Waste Disposal Contractor Transition

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, Liberty Commons Condominium Trust will be transitioning from our current waste disposal contractor, E.L. Harvey & Sons, Inc., to our new waste disposal contractor, Casella Waste Systems, Inc.

E.L. Harvey & Sons, Inc. has been Liberty Commons’ waste disposal contractor since August 1, 2012, and have performed quite well for us during their service period (over 4+ years).

Liberty Commons’ Board of Trustees would ask all residents who have trash to be disposed of to do so before midnight on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, into the current dumpsters. All trash must be disposed of inside the dumpster themselves. If a dumpster is full, please utilize one of the other four dumpsters on the property.

Normally, on Thursday mornings, around 6:00-7:30 AM, dumpsters are emptied by our current waste disposal contractor. Starting Wednesday, April 5, 2017, dumpsters will be emptied on Wednesdays moving forward.

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, no trash shall be disposed of until the new dumpsters with a Casella Waste Systems, Inc. logo on them are in place, setup, and ready for use in the dumpster enclosures. No trash is to be placed outside any Unit nor in the Common Areas (anywhere on the property), nor in the old dumpsters with a E.L. Harvey & Sons logo.

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, there will be a transition (and shuffling) of dumpsters, and we’ll need everyone’s cooperation to ensure a smooth transition and for everyone’s safety we ask that you avoid the areas where the dumpsters are located. For a period of time, there may be two dumpsters (old and new) in the parking lots or elsewhere on the property. If there is an overlap between the old and new dumpster, please do not dispose of any trash into the dumpsters with the E.L. Harvey & Sons logo, as this could add to the expenses of Liberty Commons Condominium Trust.

As a reminder, no one may place and/or discard any radioactive, volatile, corrosive, highly flammable, explosive, biomedical, infectious, or hazardous materials (“Excluded Waste”) as defined by applicable federal, state or local laws or regulations in any dumpster or elsewhere on the property. Please consult the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Property Managers and the Waste Bans (.pdf) for some information and guidance. This is not an all encompassing nor exhaustive list. No trash or waste may be placed or stored outside any Unit (i.e., on decks, patios, etc.) not even momentarily, nor placed on the ground outside the Unit, including, but not limited to near a dumpster, or anywhere in the Common Areas (anywhere on the property). No personal items are to be left near a dumpster nor anywhere on the property with free signs. No one wants anyone’s unwanted items. Please make arrangements to have any unwanted items removed from your Unit and immediately removed from the property.
